Our horses deserve to be celebrated.
I believe that we don’t celebrate our horses enough. They are more than just pets, they are teammates, confidants, and friends. When you’re in the show ring, it’s your horse that’s with you every step of the way. If you’re having a bad day, heading out to the barn is for some quality horse time is almost always the perfect solution. Day in and day out, our horses are there for us, and I every chance I get, I help owners celebrate their horses through beautiful equestrian photography.

I had a session back this last June. I live in Washington State and have quite a few horses. I can’t say enough on how awesome the day went. Deziree helped me so professionally in so many ways. A lot for me was helping me pose and she also had a great vision that made it very easy to trust her! I was so happily surprised when I received my photos. They were more than I ever hoped for and completely surpassed any expectations I had. She handled the day and my crazy creatures very very well! As well as her helpful husband. Thank you so so much!!! I recommend her to anyone over and over again. You absolutely will not be disappointed.

Deziree was so much fun to work with and the photos she took of me and my horses are by far my favorite of all time! I highly recommend her and can't wait to have her out to do another shoot sometime!

Working with Deziree was nothing short of awesome! Her ease and calming personality made me feel so comfortable, even though I was super nervous. We included our horses, goats, and chickies into some portraits and she and Brad came with so much patience and treats for the whole clan! Her style and approach to photography was so refreshing and she built my confidence the whole shoot but giving me specific directions on how to pose and how the shots were turning out. She even showed me the back of the camera to see a few photos which really helped me share the vision she was after!
IT started with a horse…
My love of horses started with Thunder, my first horse, a leopard Appaloosa. He was fat, lazy, and dumped me more times than I can count, but he was still my absolute best friend throughout my teenage years. After my cats, he was also one of my favorite subjects for my new found passion for photography. After he passed, I was so grateful that I had so many pictures celebrating our time together.
Combining horses and Photography
When I officially started my photography business, I shot a little of everything. But after shooting a few sessions with horses, I was hooked! Even though I didn’t currently have a horse, working with equestrian clients reminded me how much I loved being around horses, and how much I missed having that relationship. Specializing in equestrian photography allowed me hold onto that love for horses without one of my own.
After a few years without a horse, the hole in my life was perfectly filled with Pixy, my stubborn, but beyond cute Clydesdale QH mare. Getting Pixy just reaffirmed what I already knew: the horses in our lives are special, irreplaceable creatures. They hold a place in our lives and hearts that nothing else can fill, and they deserve to be celebrated. So ever opportunity I get, I strive to celebrate our equine best friends the best way I know how: through photography.
