2018 Silhouette Roundup | The Obsession of a Nationwide Equestrian Photographer

As the year comes to a close, I thought I would do a round up of some of my favorite photos. I’ll be sharing more in the next few weeks, but I after looking through my photos, I decided I had to do a round up of my favorite types of photos to take: silhouettes!

If you’ve been seeing my stuff for a while, you’ve probably seen quite a few silhouettes on my social media and blog. And that’s cause I’m OBSESSED with them! Maybe it’s my childhood love of the cover of the movie “The Man from Snowy River”, which is an epic horse silhouette. Or maybe it’s cause one of my first actually decent equestrian photography was a silhouette. (Fun fact: it’s also by far my stolen photo, it’s everywhere!)

Whatever the reason, I wrap up most of my equestrian photography sessions with silhouettes. The final look of them is totally determined on what the sky feels like doing that day, but I always end up loving these photos, whatever type of sky we get! So enjoy these photos, which were taken all over the country throughout 2018.
